Last year's Gram 14 laptop can be an appealing buy for users who really want an ultralight laptop without needing to settle for slow Atom CPUs or smaller subnotebook screen sizes.

LG Gram laptops are somewhat notorious for launching at absurdly high prices. The 17.3-inch LG Gram 17, for example, was 1800 Euros or almost $2000 USD when it launched in mid 2020. Fortunately, this latest deal on Amazon for an older 14-inch LG Gram 14 is a lot more affordable at just under $750.

The configuration in question comes with a last generation Core i5-10210U CPU with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM, 512 GB NVMe SSD, and FHD display. Its performance isn't going to blow anyone away, but it's definitely not anywhere near as slow as all those Celeron or Atom alternatives. Instead, the biggest advantages of the Gram 14 are its crisp glossy display and ultralight weight of under 1 kg to be noticeably lighter than almost every other 14-inch laptop with a Core U-series CPU.

Potential buyers will want to keep in mind that this specific SKU does not support Thunderbolt. Additionally, while RAM and SSD upgrades are possible, the bottom panel is very difficult to remove based on our experiences with multiple Gram models. The chassis is also an older, outdated design as it has since been replaced with a newer and sleeker one.

See our full review on the 2019 Whiskey Lake-U Gram 14 which shares the exact same chassis design and features as the 2020 Comet Lake-U Gram 14 that's on sale.
