LG Velvet 5G UW coming to Verizon on August 21 - Gadgets Now

LG’s mid-range 5G smartphone — LG Velvet 5G UW is coming to Verizon on August 21. The smartphone will come with support for Verizon’s limited 5G mmWave network and it will also be compatible with Verizon’s sub-6Ghz 5G network which will launch by the end of this year.

The carrier has also announced a promotional offer for new lines. The customers can get the LG Velvet 5G UW for $10 a month if they purchase it online with a new line of service on a Premium Unlimited plan. This means that the new customers can get the smartphone for $240. On the other hand, you can also trade-in your old phone for the new LG Velvet 5G UW and get up to $350 as the trade-in value. The smartphone will be available in Aurora Red colour option.

LG Velvet 5G UW comes with a 6.8-inch full HD+ display with a 1080x2340 pixel resolution. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor with Adreno 620 GPU.


The smartphone packs 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 1Tb by installing a microSD card. The smartphone runs Android 10 and comes with dual SIM support. LG Velvet 5G UW comes with a triple rear camera with a 48MP main sensor with LED flash, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 5MP depth sensor. The camera comes with quad biking technology which combines 4 pixels into one picture. The camera also offers voice out focus which separates the background noise and voice from a video. The front houses a 16MP selfie camera.
The device is equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers with AI sound which claims to automatically analyse the content being played and adjusts the required audio quality accordingly. It is backed by a 4,300 mAh battery with support for fast and wireless charging.
