LG's transparent OLED displays are being rolled out in Chinese subways.

LG Display has announced that it has provided the first transparent OLED displays for subway train windows in Beijing and Shenzhen, China, installing 55-in transparent OLED displays on Beijing’s line six and Senzhen’s line 10 subways.

The displays present information on subway schedules, locations, transfers as well as flights and lifestyle information such as news and weather on selected trains, with LG planning to expand the supply of the transparent OLEDs to additional subway stations, working with railroad companies and subway train glass manufacturers.

Dr Chang-ho Oh, senior vice president and head of TV business unit, LG Display, commented:  “The application of transparent displays will become more diverse. LG Display aims to supply products to a wide range of industries in line with its vision as the leading display solution provider.”
