I'm sorry but I don't believe them anymore.
In the past they neglected phones and released whole bunch of PR about some fancy "update center" division of the company dedicated to supporting faster updates. But they were empty words. Nothing happened. LG is still one of the slowest OEM to release OS and security updates and one of the fastest to forget about their older phones.
As much as I love their DAC and headphone jack, I got burned too much to trust them again.

I have a V30 for over a year now, but for some reason I can't update to Android 9, anyone know why?

LG makes more promises they will invariably break. Great news and something to get excited about. They're serial liars. How can there still be any suckers left?

LG has been making great phones for years the old flip-phone to 8300, Voyager, than the LG EnV and I've had the G3, G5 & now G7 never had an issue with any of them & I've never had one actually burn up or stop working.

Also came with June patch and a more iPhone like gesture navigation button.
It was a decent update, got it two days ago.

Anonymous, 17 hours agoLg makes good phones but software support is next to none, I luv my v20 and the g2 long before... moreIf you want android 9 on v20... just get the Korea variant ... for some reason Lg tend to love devices that released on their local market more compared to global variant..
This based on my experience with lg .. own v20 Japan variant, v30 korea variant and v40 global variant .. v30 definitely running smoothly and bug free while getting more frequent updates..

PanRT , 19 hours agolg v50s is lg g8x. Lg G8X is only 6gb ram while the V50S is 8gb ram. Unless its the same dumb move that samsung does with global having less ram.

Someone, 21 hours agoThey promised continuous support when they launched g7thinq but still updates never reached be... moreIt must be your service cuz I have an LG G7 with Verizon and I've gotten all the updates as they come out. Make sure your auto update is turned on.

Wow still waiting for the LG Stylo 5 to get Android 10 for my carrier why do you even bother making phones just be consistent with updates. God I'm so ready to get a iPhone just to get away from LG and the inconsistency it brings
