Unmissable LG CX OLED TV deals are perfect for PS5 and Xbox Series X and have never been more affordable - Gamesradar

lg.indah.link

Much like those Kardashian-infested private islands, the very best TVs are so far out of reach when we look at the price. Not today though, as this LG CX OLED TV deal takes an already reasonably affordable model and smashes so much off the price we had to double-check it really was the same, amazing 4K TV that walked away with our 'Best Gaming TV' medal in the inaugural GamesRadar Hardware Awards. If you were in any doubt, the Black Friday TV deals have started super early this year.

It's a great buy for the current-gen consoles, but it's set to really shine if you've been lucky enough to lock down a PS5 pre-order or Xbox Series X pre-order as it features a 120Hz refresh rate that will really take advantage of the raw power in the new consoles.

That's a superb pair of offers for anyone in the US or UK for the 55-inch model. It's the lowest ever US price over at Amazon thanks to a whopping 30% discount (Amazon US has also knocked big sums of cash off the larger 65 and 77-inch models). The UK deals on the 55-inch OLED TV deal are just as tasty, with another all-time low price or the option of getting one with a £100 gift card to claim back afterwards and a five-year guarantee.

The LG CX OLED series has proved exceptional for gaming, movies, and TV with reviewers and tech enthusiasts around the world singing its praises this year. Cinematic HDR is supported, as is Dolby Atmos audio, meaning your content will really pop. 4K offers 4x the number of pixels as 1080p and there's AI upscaling for non-4K content, so it's gorgeous and super-detailed.

For the gamers among us, LG has a lot on offer: G-Sync, Variable Refresh Rate, and Auto Low Latency mode are all onboard, meaning games will look smooth and detailed, no matter the console you choose to use. 4K at 120Hz on the PS5 and Xbox Series X is what we're really excited for, though.

LG CX OLED TV deals

LG CX OLED 55-inch 4K TV | $1999.99 $1,396.99 at Amazon
There really is no other TV we'd recommend more than the LG CX OLED series, and this is super affordable for a 55-inch OLED of this quality. 55-inch is a great size for most homes, but you'll find discounts on the larger sizes too on the same listing page at Amazon. The 65-inch is tempting, although the 77-inch price shoots up dramatically and is probably too big for most rooms.

LG 55-inch OLED55CX5LB 4K TV | Free £100 e-gift card | £1,799 £1,399 from John Lewis
Originally costing £1,800 on release, it's been more like £1,600 for a while, but this is even lower. It's one of the best gaming TV deals we've seen in quite some time. To get your free £100 e-gift card after purchase you'll need to sign in via the free My John Lewis programThis deal also comes with a free five-year guarantee.

LG 55-inch OLED55CX5LB 4K TV | £1,299 from Amazon
A last-minute addition to this story, but Amazon UK has actually just come in with another deal that's £100 cheaper than John Lewis - but you don't get the £100 gift card here. We'd still consider the John Lewis deal instead though as it comes with that free five-year guarantee whereas the Amazon listing looks like you just get the standard one-year of cover.

LG could give Samsung a run for its money if it ever decides to care about software again - Android Central

lg.indah.link

LG VelvetSource: Alex Dobie / Android Central

LG makes a lot of different products and almost all of them are best-in-class. Whether it's a washing machine or a television, you owe it to yourself to check out what LG has to offer. The same thing could be said about the company's phone business, if only it could fix its horrible software.

Normally, this is not a problem I would waste any internet bandwidth on. Lots of companies make phones that very few people buy for one reason or another, but with LG, things are different. LG makes really excellent phones that look good and are built extremely well. And every one of them is spoiled by the software running on them.

LG has never been afraid to make quirky phones that were beautiful and well-built.

I'm not going to be shy — LG is my favorite phone manufacturer when it comes to quality. The company also isn't afraid to keep doing something different, like tiny ticker-style windows on the original V-series phones, cases that also hold a second screen on the G8, or even a swiveling phone that unfolds into some sort of tomahawk on the Wing. Some of these ideas are well-received, others not so much, but LG keeps on trickin' and the next thing we'll see is a screen that rolls up according to the internet rumor mill. Compared to an army of black slabs, this is what innovation looks like.

Some of Black Friday's best deals are already live right now so don't miss out!

Samsung does the same thing. I remember when everyone was trying to figure out why Samsung would build a phone like the first Galaxy Note. It had a big screen and came with a stylus, but it was basically just a Galaxy S phone. Fast forward to today and everyone loves the Note series. The same will happen with foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 2 — questions today will turn into purchases in the future.

There's one big difference between Samsung and LG though: Samsung put in the hours to make the software on its phones really good and LG hasn't.

You might be thinking that I'm just some sort of hater and nobody should bother taking this idea seriously. But spend a few hours reading reviews of LG phones and you'll find that almost everyone takes issue with the software. That's because it is not great at all, and when you compare it to any other company which takes the time to rewrite Android into something more custom, it looks even worse.

Phone makers should build custom versions of Android, but they should do a good job, too.

I think it's great that LG wants to turn Android into something custom and self-identifying instead of leaving it generic and boring. I know a lot of enthusiasts like generic and boring Android (me, too) but that doesn't mean companies like LG or Samsung or Oppo shouldn't be doing something more. Android was designed to be customized and even Google is all for doing it.

But you have to do it right. If you've used any recent LG phone like the V60 or the sexy little Velvet (seriously, this thing is a work of art) or even the LG Wing, you know LG's software looks a lot like Samsung's One UI, but it lacks the same level of polish and user-friendliness Samsung offers. It also gets oddly sluggish at times, gets jumpy when scrolling, has a horribly slow fingerprint scanner, and gestures can be hit or miss. This is unacceptable.

You also can't ignore LG abysmal track record when it comes to updates. You will probably see a major update and some security fixes, but don't count on getting either very quickly. When a company is unable to update its software in a timely manner, the software needs to be really great to start with. LG's software definitely is not really great.

This seems to have been the LG story since forever. Classic LG phones like the G2 or the Optimus V were wonderful in terms of build but the software was janky as hell. There have been some issues — the whole motherboard issue that caused a ton of phones to bootloop comes to mind — but people still stuck with LG because the hits were good enough to put up with bad software. That was at a time where most third-party versions of Android were bad though. Today things are different, and we see LG's market share slipping lower and lower.

We need a phone manufacturer to compete with Samsung so the competition makes both work harder.

I'm not just being nitpicky here; I honestly want LG to succeed. Two of my favorite Androids were the V10 and Optimus Black and both of them were amazing phones with cringeworthy software. I can't deal with that today and don't have to because other companies like OnePlus and Samsung make great phones with great software. Their software might not be my style, but everything runs really well.

I just want LG to do the same and start to compete, at least a little bit.

Something different

LG Wing

A completely new kind of smartphone

The LG Wing is not a perfect device, but even so, there's no denying just how unique and creative its design is. You can use it as a regular phone whenever you want, but in the blink of an eye, the secondary screen allows for all-new possibilities not found on any other device. If you can deal with software that needs a lot of spit and polish it's a pretty cool phone.

LG could give us a new flagship and a phone with rollable display as soon as March - Pocketnow

lg.indah.link

We could say that LG has been absent from the flagship segment for some months now. The company decided to kill off its G-series to make room for a new high-end midranger that we now know as the LG Velvet. However, it seems that the company is now ready to give us a new flagship, along with a new device that will feature a rollable display.

According to recent reports from The Elec, LG is focusing on two phone projects for 2021, Rainbow and B Project. Rainbow is expected to be a classic flagship, the next device in the V-series, while the B Project is supposed to be a new smartphone with a rollable screen. The B project is also part of LG’s explorer project, which was the one responsible for giving is the recently launched Wing, which means that we will most likely receive new phones with interesting designs.

“Meanwhile, LG will produce strategically important models on its own next year. Its next flagship phone, codenamed Rainbow, and its rollable smartphones, codenamed B Project, will be produced by LG itself.
“Rainbow will be launched within the first quarter of 2021. B Project will launch in March of 2021.
“Rainbow will likely be level in specs to LG’s V series. The company last launched the V60 ThinQ 5G in the US in March. It used Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 __ LG Velvet had used the Snapdragon 765.”

LG’s rollable phone is expected to have part of its screen rolled up to make it more compact when not in use. It would then roll out to give us a larger screen area. The company already teased this device at the end of the announcement of the Wing, and we are expecting to get it in March. However, Rainbow, the new phone of the V-series, could arrive with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 in the first quarter of 2021. The Elec also reports that LG is expecting to ship around 26 million smartphones this year, with more than 30 million shipments in sight for 2021.

Save $300 on amazing 8K LG OLED with this Black Friday TV deal - What Hi-Fi?

lg.indah.link

Amazon's early Black Friday deals just keep on coming – including big discounts on big-name TVs. The retail giant has just knocked $300 off the 77-inch LG OLED77GX, slashing the price of LG's 2020 'Gallery' TV to just $4697.

LG is one of the biggest players in the OLED game and with good reason. The 77-inch, 8K-capable GX is one of the thinnest and sharpest TVs you can buy anywhere in the world right now.

Amazon has knocked $300 off the price – but only for a limited period. Demand will be high, so don't delay!

We've not reviewed the LG OLED77GX but we have reviewed the 65-inch version the LG OLED65GX – which wowed us with its "natural performance, improved motion, dark detail and lovely design."

Inside, you get LG's Alpha 9 processor, which brings improvements in noise reduction, sharpness and colour reproduction over LG's 2019 sets. There's also support for HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision, plus all the major streaming apps including Netflix, Apple TV, Disney+, Prime Video, Hulu and Sling.

Put simply, the GX knocks it out of the park, delivering LG's finest picture processing in one of the thinnest, neatest TV chassis we've ever seen.

Given the level of quality and performance on offer, there's a lot to like about the LG OLED77GX at $5000. At $4697 – a $300 mark-down – it's one of the best early Black Friday deals around (and a great way to impress guests over the holidays).

LG sees Q3 profit increase 23% - ZDNet

lg.indah.link

Image: LG Electronics

LG Electronics announced on Friday it posted 959 billion won ($807 million) in operating profit and 16.9 trillion won ($14.2 billion) in revenue for the third quarter of 2020.

It is an increase of 22.7% and 7.8%, respectively, year-on-year.

According to LG, the growth was led by strong sales from its home appliances and home entertainment products.

The company's home appliance business saw profit soar 56.6% year-on-year to 671.5 billion won ($565 million) for the quarter.

The business also contributed 6.16 trillion won in sales, its highest ever for a quarter, LG said.

Washing machines and stylers showed high demand in the quarter, the company said, adding that it expects the fourth quarter to be even more profitable.

LG's TV business also saw a resurgence during the quarter through growing demand for premium products, such as its OLED TVs, in mature markets such as North America and Europe.

The TV business contributed 326.6 billion won ($275 million) in operating income, which was an increase of 13.2% year-on-year.

LG's mobile business, meanwhile, posted an operating loss of 148.4 billion won ($125 million).

It is the mobile business' 22nd consecutive quarter of loss but the South Korean company said the rate of loss was narrower when compared to the same period a year ago and the previous quarter.

Compatriot Samsung Electronics also saw demand for home electronics soar in the third quarter, with the company saying there has been pent-up demand following the COVID-19 pandemic.

LG offers 5G for less with $359 mid-range K92 5G handset - The Verge

lg.indah.link

Smartphones with 5G access are getting cheaper and cheaper, and the latest mid-range handset from LG is one of the most affordable yet: the new K92 5G is priced from just $359, and offers 5G access for three US carriers: AT&T, Cricket Wireless, and UScellular.

Apart from this, it looks like a pretty average device, with a 6.7-inch 1080p display, 4,000 mAh battery, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage — all powered by Qualcomm’s mid-range (but 5G capable) Snapdragon 690 chipset.

That’s the same 690 used in OnePlus’ recently-announced Nord N10 5G, which costs around $400 in European markets and is also 5G capable. (OnePlus hasn’t said when the Nord N10 5G will be coming to the US though, but notes it’ll be available “at a later date.”)

The LG K92 5G also has a healthy array of cameras, back and front. Four rear sensors include a 64-megapixel standard lens, 5-megapixel ultrawide, 2-megapixel macro lens, and 2-megapixel depth sensor, while there’s a 16-megapixel hole-punch lens on the front, too. Oh, and you also get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and USB-C charging.

The $349 price means that LG undercuts its rival Samsung, which has itself been pushing down the prices of 5G handsets over the past year. Samsung announced its Galaxy A42 5G in September, later confirming it would sell for £349 in the UK (about $455), but that’s still not as cheap as the new K92. How much lower can the bar for 5G access go?

LG Electronics net profit surges 88% - MarketWatch

lg.indah.link

LG Electronics Inc.'s third-quarter net profit surged 88% from a year earlier, driven by brisk sales of televisions and home-appliance products.

Net profit jumped to 649.20 billion Korean won ($574.2 million), compared with KRW345.70 billion, the South Korean consumer-electronics giant said Friday. That beat a FactSet consensus forecast for net profit of KRW451.25 billion.

Revenue rose 7.8% to KRW16.920 trillion, while operating profit jumped 23% to KRW959.00 billion.

The company said sales at its segment covering home appliances and air solutions surged 16% during the quarter, while those at its home-entertainment segment, which include TVs, jumped 14%.

Extended stays at home and government subsidies amid the pandemic have been driving demand for home appliances and TVs, according to market analysts.

Vizio and LG’s next-gen-ready OLED TVs are up to $500 off at Best Buy - The Verge

Plus, Sony’s WH-1000XM4 are also back down to their lowest price

If you buy something from a Verge link, Vox Media may earn a commission. See our ethics statement.

Image: Vizio

Through Sunday, November 1st, Best Buy is giving shoppers another sliver of time to get in on some deals ahead of Black Friday later in the month. Most of these are repeats from the retailer’s Black Friday kickoff event that went up against Prime Day, though a few are newcomers. We’ll be keeping you posted on all of the latest Black Friday deals throughout the month, no matter where they’re coming from or when they actually drop, so stay tuned.

If you’re hunting for a 4K TV with fantastic picture quality and contrast, the highlight deal is on Vizio’s brand-new 65-inch OLED TV. It normally costs $2,000, but it’s $500 off until the sale ends on Sunday. This model should be on your shortlist if you need a new TV that has HDMI 2.1, which will help you get the most out of your PS5 or Xbox Series X consoles.

There’s another good deal on an OLED TV. LG’s 55-inch CX OLED TV was originally listed for $1,800, but it’s $1,400 right now at Best Buy as well as other retailers like Amazon.

You also have another chance to get the 70-inch Samsung 4K HDR smart TV for just $530, saving you $220 off the normal $750 cost. You probably won’t find a TV of this size for much less than that. You’ll find those below.

]]>

Vizio 65-inch OLED 4K TV

 • $1,500
 • $2,000
 • 25% off

Prices taken at time of publishing.

Vizio’s 65-inch OLED TV first hit shelves earlier in October, but it’s already $500 off at Best Buy. You can snag one now for $1,500, which is a very aggressive price.

Image: Amazon

Amazon’s Fire TV Stick Lite streaming device is seeing its first big discount at Best Buy. It costs $30 at Amazon, but you can pick it up now for $18. Amazon claims this model has the “most processing power” of streaming devices at this price point.

The Amazon Echo Show 5 is $45 at Best Buy, matching the Prime Day deal that we saw a few weeks ago. It’s similar in design and functionality to the larger Echo Show 8, just in a smaller package that can fit on a nightstand.

If you want a more simple smart clock than a feature-packed smart display, Lenovo’s new Smart Clock Essential is down to $25 (usually $50). It has traditional segmented LEDs instead of a color touchscreen, and it features the Google Assistant.

Sony’s latest flagship wireless headphones, the WH-1000XM4, are back down to their Prime Day price of $278. This marks the lowest price we’ve seen, and it’s a great deal if you want best-in-class noise-canceling performance, along with excellent sound quality and long battery life.

Bose QuietComfort 35

Bose’s trusty QC 35 II wireless noise-canceling headphones are an excellent choice if the WH-1000XM4 are a bit too costly. They’re down to $200, a discount of $100 off their usual price. This matches the Prime Day we saw a few weeks ago.

There’s no shortage of other noise-canceling headphone deals, either. The Beats Solo Pro in dark blue, red, or light blue are $170, which makes for a big $130 price cut that beats the Prime Day deal by $10.

This deal is specifically on the spring yellow and lava red models.
Image: Beats

The Beats PowerBeats Pro wireless earphones in lava red and spring yellow are $160, beating the Prime Day deal that took them down to $175. If you’re smitten with the color, this is a great deal.

Marshall Emberton Photo by Cameron Faulkner / The Verge

Marshall’s Emberton Bluetooth speaker recently released, and it’s $50 off at Best Buy. This is the first price drop we’ve seen, which takes it down to $100.

The Ultimate Ears MegaBoom 3 Bluetooth speaker is also just $100 at Best Buy. It usually sells for around $175, and it will offer bigger sound than Marshall’s model above.

Lenovo’s Chromebook Flex 3 is $179, which is $100 of its usual price. This model has an 11.6-inch display, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage, so it’s not the most capable option on the market — though, this is a low price.
